Tomiel is a tall and muscular Ishgardian Elezen with extremely fair skin and eyes. His hair is an unruly black to platinum mess, cut short and covers much of his face. Despite the deep bags under his tired eyes, he has finely handsome features that few can shy away from. Although he may look intimidating and unapproachable at first glance, he is quick to give a warm smile to friend and stranger alike.Tomiel is often seen in darker attire, neat and formal even if it may be traveling gear. His armor is clearly well loved, but kept in very good condition. An old sword and tarnished shield of Halone are always by his side. Kaliah, the black chocobo, is also always by his side. She has beautiful silky feathers and is very well kept, very clearly pampered.His body is covered with small scars from his training and travels. However, there is a significate and horrifying set of deep scars on his back. Two harsh lines run down from his upper to lower back, just over his shoulder blades. An awful amount of scratch marks also scar that already damaged tissue. It is a near impossible task to get Tomiel to reveal his back, not even to those he trusts well.

Once the adorned child protege of the knights of Ishgard, Tomiel now roams the star as a missionary of sorts. After a terrible encounter with a rouge voidsent, his aether has become corrupted to a point he looks unrecognizable to his old comrades. Still faithful to Halone, he prays to find a way to help his worsening condition.Tomiel is kind and considerate, pure of heart and strong of blade. He is a true knight in shining armor even after he fell to corruption. Serving the church and knights of Ishgard, he did not attend to much of their more brutal conquests. He was more of a pretty face for them to use to gain favor over the people. Regardless, he is innately skilled with aether manipulation and trains well with swordplay, taking on a more defensive style as a Paladin.The Gelach House in Ishgard is a Minor House amongst the high class of the city. With Tomiel’s early recognition, the Gelachs have made a better name of themselves. Tomiel doesn’t go back to visit very often, even if he used to live quite lavishly there. And he rarely uses his full name, but rather introduces himself as simply “Tom” or “Tomiel”. Although there is no bad blood between him and Ishgard or his family, he does not feel worthy of showing his face to those from his past. Not until he can be fixed.

Hooks

  • Halone’s Chosen: Tomiel was taken very early in his childhood by the church as they witnessed his incredible skill with aether at such a young age. Your character might know of the Chosen Child from years ago. The name Tomiel Gelach might sound familiar as he was the face for the church for some time.

  • The False Mission: Though he told everyone who knew him that he left Ishgard as a missionary, this was not his true intention. The word of Halone is greatly important to him, but his main reason for leaving was to find answers.

  • Corrupted Soul: Tomiel is trying to find answers and solutions to his corruption. An aether corruption carved deep into his essence continues to scar him further as time goes on. This infliction causes him daily pain, horrid nightmares, and even something unknowable when he sleeps. Be careful of him if you know he should be unconscious.

  • Doctors and Magic: His journey takes him to every part of Eorzea, leading him to doctors, sages, and everyone in between. If your character is well versed in aether, medicine, or any other means of health correction, he may be looking to strike a deal with them. Just how far will he go to get a solution?

  • Adventurer's Heart: Tomiel has recently found a new position in the adventurer's guild named Polaris Sky (Mateus). If your character is a traveler, adventurer, or in need of assistance from such types, Tomiel is more than willing to give a helping hand. If he cannot be helpful or protect others, he feels rather useless.

Hi, I’m Coffee or Z (he/they)! I’m 25+ and employed full-time, so please keep that in mind with scheduling! Please only adults, I don’t feel comfortable RPing with minors. I’m down for both Discord and In-Game RP.I brought Tomiel into FFXIV from his original characterization as a D&D Aasimar. His story surprisingly fit very well into the lore of FFXIV and it was a fun challenge to create this version of him. He is a character very near to my heart, and am excited to get him into the RP of FFXIV.Thank you for being interested!

Content Warning

Tomiel is a character with dark themes that might involve disturbing scenes of slightly graphic content. His corruption also can force him to do things without his knowledge or consent. The darkness that beats within him is violent and wrathful, not shying away from body horrors or gore.His story involves struggles of mental and physical traumas and chronic illnesses. I am not trying to portray such things in any romanticized light.Tom is a broken man who clings onto hope even with his last breath.
